Commit to cleaner air in central Arkansas by using alternate modes of transporation
Make a difference.
WALK • BIKE • TAKE A BUS
TELECOMMUTE • CARPOOL
Ditch the Keys is an Ozone Action Days awareness-building campaign that encourages central Arkansas residents to protect air quality by using alternate modes of transportation and to reduce outdoor activities on high-ozone days. Ground-level ozone is the bad type of ozone that is created when pollutants such as vehicle exhaust, chemical solvents, and industrial emissions mix with sunlight.
Take a Bus
From May to September, leave the keys at home to reduce ground-level ozone. Your body will thank you. Your lungs will thank you. The environment definitely will thank you.
Bike to Work or School
Bike to Work = healthier you (i.e., stronger bones, less stress) + reduced emissions and pollution
Bike Rally on May 17 for National Bike to Work Day.
Ride of Silence on Wednesday, May 15
Ride the Bus
Carpool to School or Work = money saved + decreased carbon, gases and pollution. Or better still, work from home!
Make a Difference
Small acts (walk to lunch, bike to gym, carpool with friends to the grocery store, etc.) = better health + reduced costs + improved air quality
Walk to School or Work Day
Walking to Work = improved mental and physical health + less CO2 in the environment
Commit to small acts throughout the summer (i.e., walk to lunch, bike to the gym, carpool with friends to the grocery store… be creative!)
